If you are traveling to New York City for our wedding celebration, please find information about travel below.
Visa Waiver Program (ESTA)
If you are a UK citizen, you need to apply for an ESTA to enter the United States. The ESTA allows UK Citizens to travel to the US without a visa for personal trips and costs $14, lasting 2 years from date of issuance. Please apply for this at least 2 weeks before the date of travel, though there is no reason to apply later if you know you are coming.
Passports
The United States may deny you entry if you do not have at least 6 months left on your passport. If you are within 6 months of your passport expiring during the trip, be sure to apply for a new passport well in advance of travel, as you may be turned away at the border.
Airports
If you are flying in, any of the NYC area airports (JFK, LaGuardia, Newark) will be just fine as they are all accessible to the city. Here is more information on each airport:
Transportation
Uber and Lyft are convenient options. We also recommend Via, a ride-sharing app known for its affordable fares starting at as low as $5. You will have to carpool, but this typically doesn't add much extra travel time. You can also hail a taxi the old-fashioned way! Just note, the cabs with the roof lights on are available and on duty; if they are off, they will not be stopping for you.
Hotels
We are working on reserving room blocks at a few nearby hotels in the West Village/SoHo area and will provide more details here in the coming weeks. That said, the city is very accessible, so you do not need to stay in the West Village where our celebration will be held. Airbnb may also be a good option depending on what you are looking for.
